Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for my pajamas and my comfy bed. Suffering from Georgia alleriges is awful. I will be in my pj's and heading to bed as soon as possible after work today. Ugh.

MASH

The other day Hayley asked me to play a game...a game called Mash.

Memories of the long, lost classic came flooding back. I'm pretty sure that every girl plays this game with the same eagerness and excitement, anticipating the presage of their future.

You can even play online these days.  Of course my co-worker-friends and I had to play.

Here are my results....

I will live in a mansion.

I will drive a black minivan.

I will marry Alan from the Hangover. We will form a wolfpack with our 11 children.

I will be a professional acrobat.

I will live in Bora Bora.

If I am being honest, pretty much everything about my MASH life scares me, except for Bora Bora. That part, I can handle. :)

You can forcast your own life here.  Good luck!

Tattoo # 2

I got my tattoo! As of last Friday, I can cross "get my second tattoo" off my 30 by 30 list! I'm so excited...love it!

I've had the idea for my new tat for quite some time now. The tattoo is lyrics from the Dashboard Confessional song, Don't Wait. The lyrics have been something of a saving grace for me. They have inspired me in moments when I've felt I couldn't go any further. I am thrilled to have this constant reminder of hope with me always.

"Don't wait. The lights will flash and fade away. The days will pass you by. Don't wait to lay your armor down."

Happy Mother's Day

Today was an awesome Mother's Day. Hayley did a great job making my day special. It was the sweetest thing to see her so happy.

When I picked her up from school on Friday, she had a Mother's Day card in hand. It is precious and hilarious, and even has pop-out hearts . It reads...

"Happy Mother's Day. I love you so much that I can't ever not be with you. I think for a mom that you are the best mom on the planet to me. I love you. You can never, ever, ever, ever get away from me."

How funny is that! I love that she loves me so much that she can't ever be away from me - never mind that I am her sole provider. She kind of sounds like a cute little stalker too - you can never, ever, ever, ever get away from me. :)

On top of the best card in the world, I got a delicious breakfast delivered to me on the porch this morning - french toast, fruit, orange juice, and a latte. She also brought me flowers and a snow globe that says, "God couldn't be everywhere, so he created mothers."  Mother's Day was perfect. I am so thankful for my sweet girl.

(Thanks to my neighbors who helped Hayley put her plan into action.)

Thankful Thursday

I am super thankful for porch-time. I love sitting on a porch in pretty weather, drinking good wine, chatting about life, listening to music, and watching crazy dogs play. I think porch-sitting is one of the best ways to take a load off and relax. So often too, these are times when friends are gained and memories are made.

Me and my neighbor, Dan on a porch night. He may have the best porch of anyone I know.
